“I am who I am because of skateboarding and the skateparks that I grew up attending. Learning from my mistakes and getting back up after I fall came from skateboarding, not from church, not from my family, not from school, not from the government, it all came from skateboarding. I am now a helicopter pilot for the United States Marine Corps, it took a lot of determination to get here and I attribute that determination to skateboarding.”
“I grew up skateboarding at local parks every day after school for years and years. You fall, get back up, fall, get back up — on and on and on and on. This teaches resilience. I now run a multimillion-dollar business without schooling or prior experience with the world's biggest companies as clients. I credit my ability to get back up and keep trying as the reason I found success.”
“Made some great friendships. It encouraged me to work with the local community more. It brings me a mental health break. It gave me a safe place to skate rather than public property. It helped me understand myself better in understanding failure and success.”
“I'm a 46 year old mom that just started skating a few years ago. I can't stop thinking about skateboarding. Any day that I can get out and ride is a great day. Skateboarding is a great workout that doesn't feel like a chore. I've also made friends and found a great community of fellow skaters.”
